Rescue Me ID: 15-05-24-00120Maggie (female)

Plott    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

PLOTT HOUND (certified as such by the rescue and her veterinarian) - Brindle/Female Age: Young Adult 2 years Personality: Dominant but good with other dogs usually Health: Spayed, vaccinated, licensed Maggie is a high energy PLOTT HOUND. She is brindle with a 1 blue and 1 brown eye. Although she is excellent with our kids and male dog (no cats), she does get jealous when she is not receiving enough attention and requires plenty of exercise, she sometimes seeks more attention by chewing items or urinating on things if she is neglected for long periods (she is fully house trained). She is very affectionate and ultimately the most loyal ... (Read More)loving dog you will ever own if given the right environment, I would say she would be fine with a non-dominant dog or older kids that can play with her. She is excellent on a leash as well as free, she responds to her name and will return to her owner. She is NOT a crate dog and will injure herself if put in one. She would love to be an outdoor high activity dog like running, hiking, playing etc... If you have the time to love, exercise, and quite frankly spoil her she is an amazing dog... unfortunately with 4 kids and 2 full time parents she is not loving her current situation, the environment frustrates her and she is acting out. We are very fond of her and saved her from a kill shelter 2 years ago but are unable to give her what she needs from an owner. Please contact 413-387-7555 with your location and a description of your family and why you would be a good fit for Maggie and pictures of the home/yard. I am happy to answer additional questions as well. *PLEASE I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH SERIOUS COMMITTED INQUIRIES ONLY - ALL APPLICANTS WILL BE SCREENED* (Less)

Maggie is a high energy plott hound. She is brindle with a 1 blue and 1 brown eye. Although she is excellent with our kids and male dog she is very needy and gets jealous, she seeks attention by destroying furniture or kids belongings if she feels they are receiving more attention than her. She is very affectionate and needs to get that one on one affection she craves. She also has high anxiety if she is left alone for long periods of time. She would be a fantastic dog for a person able to be home with her and exercise her daily. We are asking an adoption fee to help us screen applicants and the fee will be donated to a local shelter. We also hope to remain in contact with her new family. (Less)
