|Rescue Me ID: 16-03-29-00485Jasper (male)|
This smart fella has it all-great looks, fantastic athleticism, and a bright young mind! Jasper is described by the staff and volunteers as intelligent, playful, and a fast learner. He loves to show off his shake-a-paw and sit skills and is very food-motivated so will learn new tricks quickly! Jasper is an active sporty boy who enjoys a lot of exercise. Chasing a tennis ball and going for daily walks is good but things like agility, Frisbee, and hiking would be even better for this challenge-seeking pooch! Jasper is currently perfecting his on-leash manners and is mastering how to walk in a heel position. Cats and small animals are also a big source of interest for inquisitive Jasper; after all, who wouldn't want to investigate these strange little things that fly, hop, and zip across his path during walks? The staff happily reports that Canine Einstein here is making great progress with continued training. One thing Jasper will need when he's left alone is some chew toys. This doggy brainiac tends to get bored without his humans and until he figures out how to channel surf or shop on-line it would be beneficial to provide him with entertainment in the form of stuffed Kongs and puzzle/chew toys to keep him occupied! Stop by the shelter to meet this one of a kind pooch! He is sure to wow you! For more information about Jasper, please contact the shelter! |Rescue Me ID: 16-03-12-00022Kyle (male)|
Hey y'all, my name is Kyle. My foster parents named me after Chris Kyle because they say I am a survivor. I love playing with my foster brother and sister and wherever they go, I go. My favorite things to do with them are to wrestle and play tug-o-war. We do everything together and we are all so good at sharing, we share food, toys, chewies, and even puppucinos! My foster parents don't know how we have so much energy because we play from sun up to sun down, without a nap. Foster mom also thinks it's strange because I haven't had an accident in the house yet but doesn't think I was ever potty trained. She is also helping me learn some basic commands like sit, down, and to not jump on people. Fun Facts: my tail is ALWAYS wagging, I love steamed broccoli, and I'm the first dog she's ever had that didn't mind taking a bath! Trust me, I will steal your heart! Kyle is a 3 month old male Plott hound/Shepherd mix. Kyle currently weighs around 22 pounds. Kyle won't be at the adoption center until he has had his second set of shots. If you are interested in adopting Kyle or any of our pups an application is required. The application can be found on our website through this link http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready. ADOPTION FEE: $200 (includes spay/neuter, shots, microchip, medicines and other medical procedures, if necessary) ADOPTION CENTER: 5533 Weslayan St. in the Weslayan Plaza Shopping Center Houston, TX 77005 HOURS: Saturdays 10 AM - 6 PM and Sundays 11 AM - 3:30 PM NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian. |Rescue Me ID: 16-03-08-00084Angel (female)|
Hello, my name is Angel! Big fan of: I have a great smile and beautiful brindle coat! I am still learning how to be 'normal' at the moment, but is anyone really 'normal'. I would love it if we could exercise and play together. I really love being outside in the sunshine. I also know it is not appropriate to bark at people, apparently that can send the wrong signal! I wouldn't want to do that. I am very eager to please so I know, I could make someone very happy one day! I have learned how to walk on the leash and housetraining with my foster parents. Not a fan of: At the moment I am still getting used to my surroundings. Again I don't really know what 'normal' is so I am a bit unsure and shy. I have been living with these other crazy dogs in a kennel barking their heads off! Can you imagine! I would really like it if I wasn't left alone for too long, I would just miss you too much. Dream home: Not that I am picky, but I think I still need some help adjusting to the good life, so I think I need a family who has had a dog before. I would LOVE to have a fenced in yard to play and run and enjoy the sunshine. Also, if you like to go on walks it is a HUGE plus! (Less)

|Animal ID: 16-03-06-00364Reese (female)|
Hi! My name is Reese! I was found a couple of months ago under an abandoned house off of a remote road. No one seems to know how I got there, but boy was I happy someone came and rescued me! I am a pretty happy girl, I am very sweet and playful, healthy, and love to make new friends. Although no one is sure exactly how old I am, the vet thinks I am around 6 months old. I have the energy of a puppy, and I love to chew! I am working on sit, stay, and shake. I also LOVE to play fetch and bring the ball back to you. I was quickly kennel trained, and now I am a true inside pup! I am ready to be in a forever home with owners that will love me forever, and make me a member of the family. (Less)

She is a good girl and loves attention. She gets along with other dogs. She is so sad her and her sister are in the shelter. Her and her sister love to play together. If separated they will try to get back to each other. We really want them to be adopted together but will NOT make this a stipulation.

|Animal ID: PenelopePenelope (female)|
Penny is a quiet, sweet girl who lives for pets and cuddles. There is not a mean bone in her body and she just wants to be with people as much as she possibly can. She's also a lucky girl who has won the lottery more than once! The night she was found, she was exceptionally skinny and practically begging for help. She'd wandered behind some locked fencing at a music club downtown and had charmed the performing bands and crew alike that night. They treated her like a star all day long and wanted to take her with them but couldn't. A fan at the show that night stepped in to take her home and attempt to find a home for her. This show dog ended up being pregnant and having 13 puppies of which only 8 survived while in foster care. Its time she found her forever home and leave the road life behind her. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-08-21-00020Perry (male)|
See Perry's video! Perry needs a home to call his own! He is a 60 lb lab/plott hound/with a hint german shepherd in the mix, nearly 3 years old, super sweet, heartworm negative, VERY house trained, microchipped, neutered, up to date on routine vaccinations and preventatives. Good with even-tempered female dogs, unknown w/cats or kids, though with his goofiness and size, he could easily knock down toddlers. He could be considered a bit high energy at times when he really gets to playing, but most of the time is extremely sweet and very loving-- he would be awesome with an active family to let him play & run it off. He is calming down a lot with age. He LOVES FETCHING!!! He really is a great dog. (see his video!) His face is super expressive and he really interested in everything his human is doing and saying! He needs a great family where he can be the center of attention. He does best with female doggy friends... a lot of family/yard time playing fetch would be ideal for Perry. He has a LOT of love to give. Please apply online for Perry today! https://fs22.formsite.com/SSSD/form2/index.html One must be approved for adoption before visiting with one of our adoptable pets.
