Plotts are great with children. The Plott Hound is best suited to life in the country, and makes a fine outside dog. Plotts need plenty of vigorous daily exercise.

    The Plott Hound is named after Jonathan Plott, who developed the breed in the mid-eighteenth century. The Plott Hound is the only completely American purebred Hound. Plotts are the only dog breed original to North Carolina. Plotts are very rare outside of the southeastern U.S.
