Plotts are great with children. The Plott Hound is best suited to life in the country, and makes a fine outside dog. Plotts need plenty of vigorous daily exercise.

    The Plott Hound is named after Jonathan Plott, who developed the breed in the mid-eighteenth century. Plotts are the only dog breed original to North Carolina. Plotts are very rare outside of the southeastern U.S.
